Corgi Combat Dioramas

Inspired by some of the most evocative and iconographic events of World War II, this brand new series captures a snapshot in time using highly detailed and historically accurate die-cast models, spin-cast metal figures and cold-cast diorama bases. Measuring 9.5 inches by 7 inches, each 1:50 scale vignette is so strikingly realistic that you'd swear you were looking at a photograph of the actual scene! Two vignettes can be butted together to form a larger scene.

The first village to be liberated behind Omaha Beach was Vierville. By mid-day on June 6, 1944, US forces had taken the village and tanks from the 741st Tank Battalion moved in. The 741st had lost 79 tanks during the landings, many sinking to the bottom of the sea during the initial assault. With the aid of naval gunfire and reinforcements, however, the 741st was once again able to achieve its mission and support the infantry as they moved inland.
