Eaglemoss EMST0101 Star Trek Bajoran Antares Class Freighter [With Collector Magazine]
"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few."
- Science Officer Spock
The Antares-class carriers were antiquated transports used throughout the 24th century by the Bajorans, during and following the Occupation of Bajor. Some of these vessels were limited to half impulse and possessed no visual communication capabilities.
In 2368, an Antares-class carrier was used to mislead Cardassian forces into attacking what they believed was a group of Bajoran terrorists traveling from Valo I to Valo III. The empty ship was escorted by the USS Enterprise-D, but would be destroyed by two Type-3 Galor-class warships, providing evidence that Starfleet Admiral Kennelly had been collaborating with the Cardassians.
The Bajorans frequently used Antares-class carriers to make routine stops at Deep Space 9. They carried Bajoran civilians, government officials, Vedeks and occasionally even the Kai. Jake Sisko and Nog used to enjoy watching the Bajoran girls among those disembarking from these vessels at the stations airlocks.
In 2369, a ship of this class departed from Alderaan Spaceport at Alderaan and docked at Deep Space 9. The ship was carrying several passengers to the station, including Ibudan, a Bajoran criminal.

Historical Account: "The Bajorans" - The Bajorans (also known as the "Bajora") were a humanoid species native to the planet Bajor in the Alpha Quadrant. The Bajorans had one of the oldest and richest cultures in the quadrant, though in the 24th century, they suffered greatly at the hands of the Cardassian Union. With their liberation from the Cardassians and the discovery of the Bajoran wormhole in 2369, the Bajorans were thrust onto the interstellar stage. Bajorans resembled Humans in appearance. They were distinguished by a series of four to seven horizontal creases across their noses.
Bajorans also featured light- and dark-skinned variants, although the dark-skinned Bajorans appeared to be a very small minority. The Bajoran heart was mirrored along a horizontal axis, unlike the Human heart, which is mirrored along a vertical axis. A puncture in the lower ventricle of the heart would cause instantaneous death. Bajoran women gestated for only five months, forming an intricate network of blood vessels between the mother and the fetus. During the pregnancy, Bajoran women were frequently afflicted by bouts of uncontrollable sneezing.
