"After [El] Alamein, we never had a defeat."
- British Prime Minister Winston Churchill
The Fiat 18 was a heavy military truck produced by Fiat Commercial Vehicles and employed by the Royal Army in the First World War.
The Fiat 18 was developed and produced by Fiat since 1911 , but the real success for this truck came during the Great War, when the model Fiat 18BL became the backbone of the Italian logistics, especially during the offensives of 1916. The truck was the normal complement medium weight of the truck lightweight Fiat 15 and along with this was the protagonist of the operator of the Italian armed forces. The armed forces, as well as the version 18BL , it took the Fiat 18BLR (the R stands for reinforced), the 18DC Fiat and Fiat 18P (the P stands for heavy), employees, as well as transport troops and materials, also with ambulance surgical equipment, wagon curtain, door-cassonato ammunition, artillery tractor and photo lab in the wake of the squadrons reconnaissance.
20,000 trucks were built, including copies sold to by Britain, France and the Soviet Union. In the early thirties the Italian Royal Army replaced the Fiat 18 with Ceirano 50 CM, but some specimens were still serving in the Italian colony in 1940 at the outbreak of World War II.
This particular 1:43 scale replica of an Italian Royal Army Fiat 18 BL transport truck comes with four figures. Only 100 pieces produced.
